MHP ORCHESTRA \u2013 Tuesdays<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

MHP\u2019s premier music group for senior students. Students are auditioned and we practice during the ACE lesson on Tuesdays. Students perform on a range of high quality Orff pitched percussion instruments as well as non-pitched percussion instruments. In addition, we also incorporate other instruments in our ensemble such as the piano, recorder, ukulele and bucket drums.<\/span><\/p>\n

The MHP orchestra performs regularly for our school and community. In addition, they have participated in a variety of inter-school music music festivals and events as well as the Lewis Eady music competition where they received Gold and Silver awards.<\/p>\n

Lewis Eady Junior Music Competition 2023<\/b><\/p>\n

The MHP orchestra competed in the Lewis Eady Junior Music Competition the 21st of October, 2023 against Primary and Intermediate school orchestras from all around Auckland. The competition this year took place at the Diocesan Junior school in Epsom. They received a Gold award for their performance of “The Storm” on the Bucket drums and a Silver award for their performance of the “Nutcracker suite” on percussion instruments. It was an unforgettable experience and superb results from our talented musicians.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
