Under the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021, all international students studying at Mission Heights Primary School must have appropriate medical and travel insurance for the duration of their enrolment and stay in New Zealand.
Families are required to arrange their own international insurance policy, provided it fully complies with New Zealand Code of Practice requirements (covering travel, comprehensive medical care, repatriation, and expatriation). If you choose an independent provider, you will need to submit an English copy of the policy to the school for verification prior to enrolment.
To make this process as seamless as possible, Mission Heights Primary School recommends Studentsafe and Explorersafe as our trusted insurance partners. Their policies are specifically tailored to meet all New Zealand Code of Practice standards.
All international students enrolled at our school must hold a valid Studentsafe policy (or an equivalent approved policy) covering medical care, travel, and personal liability.
Parents and legal guardians residing in New Zealand to accompany their primary school student are encouraged to arrange dedicated travel and medical cover using Explorersafe.
Important Note for Families: While Explorersafe offers cover for family members, international students attending Mission Heights Primary should be enrolled on their own Studentsafe policy to ensure full alignment with Code requirements.
